Have a field day = to have a chance to do what you want especially a chance to criticize someone.
(داشتن یک شانس برای انجام کارهایی که می خواهید)

In tandem with = happening at the same time.
(همزمان اتفاق افتادن)

Make it =
1. To be successful in a particular activity or profession.
(موفقیت در یک حرفه)
2. To arrive somewhere in time for something.

اصطلاحات شماره 65

Birthday money / redundancy money = money you receive on a particular occasion or in a particular situation.
( پولی که شما در یک موقعیت خاص یا به دلیلی مشخص دریافت می کنید)

Dream on = used to tell someone that they are hoping for something that will not happen.
(در آرزوی چیزی بودن که هرگز اتفاق نخواهد افتاد)

Get it straight = to understand the true facts about a situation.
(پی بردن به حقایق یک موقعیت)

Turn a deaf ear to something = be unwilling to listen to what someone is saying or asking.
(یک گوشش در و یکی دیگه دروازه)

You can't have it both ways = used to say that someone should choose only one way of doing things, instead of wanting advantages from both of two possible actions.
(نمی تونی هر دو تاشو با هم داشته باشی)

Be out to lunch = behaving in a strange and crazy way.
(رفتار عجیب و دیوانه وار داشتن)

It goes without saying = used to say that something is so obvious that it does not need to be said.
(انقدر واضح است که احتیاجی به گفتن ندارد)

Take your breath away = to be so beautiful or exciting that you feel as if you nearly stop breathing.
(از زیبایی و هیجان نفسش بند اومده)

Talk turkey = to talk seriously about important things, especially in order to agree on something.
(مذاکره در مورد مسائل مهم برای رسیدن به توافق)

Go out of your way to do something = to try very hard to do something pleasant for other people.
(دیگران را خوشحال کردن)

Have something up one's sleeve = to have a secret plan or idea that you are going to use later.
(نقشه داشتن)

I grant you that
= to admit that something is true although it does not make much difference to your opinion.

To walk out on somebody / something =

1. To leave your husband, wife etc. Suddenly.

(ترک کردن ناگهانی همسر)


2. To stop doing something you have agreed to do.


Without further ado = without delaying or wasting any time.

(بدون اتلاف وقت)


Call it a day / a night = to decide to stop working, especially because you have done enough or you are tired.

اصطلاحات شماره 60

No hard feelings = used to tell someone who you have been arguing with that you are no longer angry with them and that you hope they are not angry with you.
(برطرف شدن کدورت ها)

Put somebody to shame = to be so much better than someone so that it makes the other thing seem bad or ordinary.

Snap out of it = to stop being sad or upset and make yourself feel better.

Follow somebody's foot steps = to do what someone else has done, especially to do the same job that your father or mother did.
(تقلید کردن)

Have a blast = to have an enjoyable and exciting experience.
(تجربه ی هیجان انگیز و لذت بخش داشتن

Have a thing about something = to like something or someone very much or to be very interested in them.
(علاقه ی شدید به کسی یا چیزی داشتن)

Touch a raw nerve = to upset somebody by talking about a particular subject.
(حالگیری کردن)

Wanna-be = a person who is trying to achieve success or fame.
(تلاش برای کسب شهرت و موفقیت)

Finishing touch = a small detail that improves or completes something.

Save the day = to do something that solves a serious problem.
(حل یک مشکل جدی)

64,000 dollar question = an important or difficult question, the answer towhich might not be known.
(سوال سخت و بی جواب)

Step on it = to drive faster, to hurry up.
(سریعتر راندن؛ عجله کردن)
